What is AI Rank Tracking?
AI Rank Tracking is ProRankTracker’s new feature that monitors your visibility inside AI-generated results from Google’s AI Overview & AI Mode, as well as major AI platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, and Copilot.
It shows where your site appear through Links (with ranking) and Mentions (text visibility), along with which links AI cites.
How is AI Rank Tracking different from regular SERP tracking?
Traditional SERP tracking checks your site’s position in organic search results.
AI Rank Tracking goes further - it measures visibility inside AI-generated answers, showing how your site is referenced through Mentions and Links.
This gives you a fuller picture of how AI platforms surface and reference your brand in the new search landscape.
Which AI platforms and features are supported?
Currently supported platforms and sections include:
- Google AI Overviews
- Google AI Mode
- ChatGPT
- Gemini
- Perplexity
- Grok
- Copilot
What types of visibility can I track?
You can track two types of AI visibility signals:
- Links (Citations & External URLs) - Track all URLs AI systems reference or suggest inside answers, including citations and external links. Shows link ranking and total link count.
- Mentions (Text-Match Visibility) - Detect when your brand or product name appears in AI responses, even without a link. Shows sentence context and total mention count.
Can I also see my competitors’ results?
Yes - you can view competitor link rankings in the full Links results when tracking your own site. This helps reveal new opportunities where competitors are showing up in AI results.
How often are AI results updated?
PRT checks AI visibility daily, just like regular SERP tracking.
AI answers can change frequently - sometimes your link or brand is visible, and sometimes it isn’t.
With weekly or monthly checks, you might miss entire visibility windows.
Daily tracking
ensures you don’t lose important trends or progress.
How is AI Rank Tracking priced and counted in my plan?
AI tracking uses Terms from your quota.
Each AI prompt + URL + platform/location = 2 Terms.
If you track the same prompt across multiple locations or platforms, each combination counts separately.
Organic is simply 1 Term per keyword combination, for reference.
For example, 1,000 Terms = 500 AI prompt combinations, or a mix of AI + organic tracking depending on how you allocate them.
